Happy Mother’s Day to all the mamas, mamas to be, mamas who have never met their little ones and those who are mamas to those in their lives without having given birth! <3
It is Mother’s Day here in the UK today. It’s so strange, as most other places in the world including the US, celebrate it in May, but whatever!
My madre flew back to the US yesterday, which was so sad for all of us, but we had a good time despite illnesses. We spent half of last week at the doctor trying to get her seen for what turned out to be an ear infection and chest infection. My mamacita doesn’t do things by halves, I tell ya! Luckily, she got some antibiotics so we were able to do more fun things like taking the munchkin swimming for the first time in nearly a year and doing a bit of sorely needed bra shopping for me.
After some crazy weather (one morning we had rain, sleet, snow and blazing sunshine in just 2 hours!) this week, things have really warmed up and you can feel Spring in the air. One thing I love about living in the UK, and when I tell people this, they look at me like I have 2 heads, is the change of seasons and the variety of weather. As awesome as warm, Californian sunshine can be, it can get very monotonous. In general, I really enjoy the unpredictability of the eccentric English weather, although not all the time!
The kiddo came home with a little plant (it looks like it could be a bean of some description?) whose seeds he had sown at nursery this week. It’s so cute and little ray of sunshine inside. It’s reminded me how much I love growing plants from seed and I may get back into it this year after a 2 year hiatus.
